FC AshantiGold '04 produced a scintillating display to thrash Skyy FC 4-1 at the Bekwai Gyamfi Park on Matchday 27 of the Access Bank Division One League, sealing their promotion to the 2026-27 Ghana Premier League with three games to spare.
Skyy FC's Emmanuel Agyir had given the visitors a surprise lead in the 20th minute, but the Miners responded with devastating effect. Raphael Ankamah levelled the score in the 43rd minute before adding a second just two minutes later to send the home crowd into raptures at the stroke of halftime.
Gerard Owusu extended AshantiGold's lead four minutes into the second half, and David Gyamfi sealed the rout from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute. The 4-1 scoreline reflected the Miners' complete dominance in the contest.
With Ebusua Dwarfs losing 2-0 to Sefwi All Stars on the same day, AshantiGold's 58 points from 27 matches became an insurmountable lead. The celebrations at the Bekwai Gyamfi Park were jubilant as players and fans alike savoured the moment of promotion.
Elsewhere on Matchday 27, Nsuopun Fidelity beat UCC Youngsters 2-0, Police National defeated New Edubiase 3-1, Sekondi Eleven Wise edged Rospak FC 3-2, and Future Stars recorded a 2-0 win over King Faisal. Ebony FC and Soccer Intellectuals played out a goalless draw, while Elmina Sharks beat PAC Academy 2-1.
