AshGold stunned as Nsuopun Fidelity inflict 3-0 defeat in Zone Two

Already-promoted FC AshantiGold '04 suffered a shock 3-0 defeat to Nsuopun Fidelity at the Dominase Astro Turf on Matchday 28 of the Access Bank Division One League. It was the Miners' sixth loss of the season and their heaviest defeat of the campaign.

Jacob Manso opened the scoring for Nsuopun Fidelity shortly after halftime, catching the AshantiGold defence off guard. Samuel Osei doubled the advantage in the 57th minute with a clinical finish, before Ernest Osei Bonsu added a third to complete the rout and seal a comprehensive victory for the home side.

Despite the result, FC AshantiGold remain firmly at the top of Zone Two with 58 points — 10 clear of both Nsuopun Fidelity and Ebusua Dwarfs on 48 points each. The Miners had already secured promotion with three games to spare after their 4-1 demolition of Skyy FC on Matchday 27.

Elsewhere, Ebusua Dwarfs were held to a 0-0 draw by Ebony FC, while Sekondi Eleven Wise and Police Nationals also played out a goalless stalemate. Rospak FC beat Skyy FC 2-1, New Edubiase edged Sefwi All Stars 1-0, PAC Academy thrashed UCC Youngsters 4-2, and Soccer Intellectuals beat Future Stars 2-0. Elmina Sharks continued their strong run with a 1-0 win at King Faisal.
