Elmina Sharks snapped FC AshantiGold's unbeaten run with a 1-0 win, courtesy of Nicholas Amekpewu's early strike at the Nduom Sports Complex. FC AshantiGold remain top of the table in Zone Two with 20 points despite the defeat, while Elmina Sharks climb to fourth position.
The Miners had enjoyed an impressive eight-match unbeaten streak to start the season, recording six wins and two draws. However, their perfect record came to an end as Elmina Sharks defended resolutely to secure all three points.
Nsuopun Fidelity slipped to third after a goalless draw against Ebony FC. They now have 16 points from nine matches. New Edubiase United secured a 1-0 win over Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs, thanks to Isaac Mensah's 50th-minute goal.
Despite the setback, FC AshantiGold continue to lead Zone Two and remain strong favorites for promotion back to the Ghana Premier League. Head coach Ernest Okyere will be looking for his team to bounce back in their next fixture against UCC Youngsters at the Len Clay Stadium.
